Jeanette

Level 5/7 Tutor

I was led to work in this field to gain a better understanding of why some learners needed to approach their learning from a different viewpoint.

I have worked with learners of all ages with specific learning differences but currently work with adult Learners.

My background is in management, and I find that good organisation and time management skills are often the basic skills needed when tackling any difficulties with learning.

When working for Cadbury Schweppes, I trained factory staff in the use of computers and have found that digital skills, as well as tailored Assistive Technology, are very helpful for neurodiverse learners.

I currently work with Dyslexia Herts supporting students on the Level 7 Course who teach dyslexic learners However, I like to think of myself as an ‘Enabler’ rather than a ‘tutor’.
One of my favourite quotes is from Galileo Galilei 1564 – 1642
“We cannot teach people anything; we can only help them discover it within themselves.”

In my spare time I am a member of a community choir and play violin in the local symphony orchestra.
