Specialist assessor

I have over 20 years’ experience of teaching in primary schools. During these 20 years I have had the roles of Key Stage Leader, member of the Senior Leadership Team and also worked as an English Leading Teacher for Hertfordshire County Council, supporting many local schools with the teaching of English.

During my teaching career I have supported children with a range of additional needs in my classroom, ranging from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Developmental Language Delay, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Dyslexia, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Emotional Based School Refusal, as well as supporting those with anxiety and emotional needs. I am passionate about supporting all learners and wholeheartedly believe that no child should be left behind.

My decision to move from mainstream teaching to become a dyslexia assessor was driven by a passion to empower these children, to give them the keys to unlock their own unique potential and embrace their skills.

After many years of teaching,, I went back to study again at university for my Level 7 qualification; Dyslexia Professional Report Writing, qualifying me to assess and diagnose dyslexia. As a teacher and dyslexia assessor, I am hugely passionate about ensuring that all children are able to enjoy learning and reach their full potential.

In my spare time I am busy with my two young children and our wonderful cockapoo, Rocco.
